The patch consists of black rubber over a blue tie gum, which creates a durable bond with the inner liner surface once cured. Thin, even edges lower the risk of the patch lifting at the edges and make it harder for dirt to collect around the repair.
Used on its own as an inner liner seal, or together with a STEM repair plug — the plug fills the puncture channel from the outside while the patch seals and reinforces the repair from the inside. The slit mylar backing is peeled off right before the patch is applied to the prepared, cement-coated inner liner surface.
