Bias Tire Patch EURO BN15 380 mm (8-Ply) – Xtra Seal
Diagonal tire repair insert | Type BN15, 8-ply cord | Brand: Xtra Seal | Sold as: 1 pc.
The EURO bias tire patch BN15 380 mm from Xtra Seal is an 8-ply repair insert built exclusively for bias-ply tires — both tube-type and tubeless. Compared to the BN12 (305 mm, 6-ply), the BN15 steps up in both dimensions at once: a notably wider diameter (380 mm) and two additional cord layers (8-ply instead of 6-ply). Eight layers of crosswise cord are designed for tires with exceptionally thick, multi-ply casings — mining equipment, large earthmoving machinery, and the highest-capacity agricultural machines. Like the rest of the BN line, it can also serve as a valve housing for truck and agricultural inner tubes. The slit mylar backing is peeled off right before mounting. It works with cold and hot vulcanization.
Product Overview – Bias Tire Patch EURO BN15 380 mm 11-498
The patch consists of black rubber over a blue tie gum, which creates a durable bond with the inner liner surface once cured. Eight layers of crosswise bias cord (8-ply designation) represent the highest reinforcement level in the entire BN line, built for tires with extremely thick, multi-ply casings operating under the highest service loads. Thin, even edges lower the risk of the patch lifting at the edges.
Like the other patches in the BN line, the BN15 can serve as a valve housing for truck and agricultural inner tubes — useful when the original valve housing is damaged. The slit mylar backing is peeled off right before the patch is applied to the prepared, cement-coated inner surface.
Features and Specifications
Eight layers of crosswise cord — highest reinforcement level in the entire BN line.
Notably wider than the BN12 (305 mm) — for repairs on large industrial tires with thick casings.
Works with both tube-type and tubeless bias tires.
Creates a durable, sealed bond between the patch and the tire inner surface.
Protects the patch base from contamination and peels off easily right before mounting.
Can also serve as a tube valve housing for truck and agricultural inner tubes.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the BN15 differ from the BN12?
The BN12 (11-497) has a 305 mm diameter and six cord layers; the BN15 (11-498) has 380 mm and eight cord layers — a step up in both dimensions at once. The two additional cord plies indicate a different target application: tires with much thicker casings than the 6-ply series was designed for, primarily mining and the largest construction equipment.
Can BN15 bias patches be used on radial tires?
No — the bias cord insert is built for bias-ply tires only. The crosswise cord arrangement matches the structure of a bias tire; using this patch in a radial tire goes against repair technology guidelines. For radial tires, radial-cord repair inserts should be used.
Which cements work with the 11-498 patch?
The manufacturer recommends Xtra Seal Standard cement (14-008) or Super-Blu (14-511) for cold-cure vulcanization. After mounting, sealing the patch edges and buffed surface with Sealiner is recommended.
