Mushroom Repair Plugs Xtra Seal – 4 mm / 27 mm
Tire repair plugs | Mushroom type | Brand: Xtra Seal | Sold as: 1 pc.
Xtra Seal mushroom repair plugs are a complete single-piece solution for nail puncture repairs in radial and diagonal tires — both tube-type and tubeless. One part seals the puncture channel (stem ∅4 mm) while the other seals the damage from the inside of the tire (cap ∅27 mm). This means the repair covers both areas that a traditional patch or string plug would address separately. Installation is done from inside the tire using Xtra Seal vulcanizing cement — the product is for cold vulcanization only, with no press or heat required.
Product Overview – Mushroom Repair Plugs 3-13-670
The plug is made from black rubber coated with an active tie gum layer on the stem and the underside of the cap. Once the cement is applied and the plug is seated, the active gum bonds with the vulcanizing cement, creating a durable seal both inside the puncture channel and between the cap and the tire inner liner. The elasticity of the rubber maintains the seal through the shape changes the tire goes through during use.
The ∅4 mm stem is sized for standard nail punctures. The ∅27 mm cap provides adequate sealing margin around the puncture opening on the inside of the tire. After installation, the excess stem is trimmed flush with the tread face.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a mushroom plug replace a separate EURO patch?
For typical nail punctures, a mushroom plug is a complete repair in a single piece — no separate patch is needed. EURO patches (such as those in the 11-307 to 11-312 range) are used when the repair requires a larger inner liner reinforcement area than the ∅27 mm cap provides, or when the damage conditions call for selecting the patch and plug sizes independently.
What is the maximum puncture size the 4 mm stem can handle?
The ∅4 mm stem is sized for typical nail punctures where the channel doesn't exceed 4–6 mm. For larger damage, a plug with a thicker stem or a separate patch-and-plug repair method should be used.
Which cements work with the 3-13-670 plugs?
The manufacturer recommends Xtra Seal Standard cement (14-008) or Super-Blu (14-511). Apply cement to the plug stem and to the inner liner surface around the puncture channel, let it dry, then proceed with installation.
