The V9-05-01 washer is the third, often overlooked part of the valve system on inner tubes — it seals the connection between the connector bonded to the tube and the valve body screwed onto it. Made from thick black rubber with just the right amount of flex, it's sold in bulk packs of 100, which suits regular servicing of truck and farm machinery inner tubes.
What this washer is for
The valve system on an inner tube is made up of three parts: a connector bonded to the tube rubber, a valve body screwed onto the connector, and the sealing washer sitting between them. Even a properly bonded connector and a correctly tightened valve body won't be airtight without this washer — it's what fills in the microscopic surface irregularities and closes off the connection. The rubber's flexibility lets the washer conform to the valve's contour, even with small dimensional variation between individual parts.

Does this washer fit every valve body in the V3-02 family?
Yes. Regardless of a given valve body's length, height, or bend angle, every model in this family works with the same connector (V3-08-3 or V3-08-3NZ) and the same V9-05-01 sealing washer.
Can the washer be reused after removing a valve body?
It's not recommended. Rubber that's already been compressed loses some of its flex, so it's better to fit a fresh washer from the pack each time a valve body is replaced, to keep the connection fully airtight.
Why is this washer sold in packs of 100?
This format is aimed mainly at tyre shops and workshops doing regular tube repairs, where washers get used up with every valve body swap — a bulk pack cuts down on how often single pieces need reordering.
What happens if the washer is left out during installation?
