Radial inserts are designed for patching, reinforcing, and section repairs in any repairable area of radial tires for passenger cars, trucks, agricultural machinery, and construction equipment.
Radial inserts are incredibly strong while maintaining high flexibility. They can be chemically vulcanized (cold), hot vulcanized, or applied in a two-step process (chemical + hot).
X-tra Seal's radial patches are made of black rubber placed on top of premium blue active rubber, formed on a "mylar" substrate that is scored for easier removal.
Each of the radially arranged cord layers is cut in a special "wavy" manner to distribute stress over a larger area. Additionally, the end is specially wrapped to allow it to "float" within the rubber without causing the insert to crack at the cord ends or detach from the tire, which can occur in products from other manufacturers.
For attaching radial patches, we recommend using Standard X-tra Seal adhesive or Super-Blu X-tra Seal adhesive. After completing the repair, it is recommended to use the SEALINER X-tra Seal sealing fluid for patches.
Inserts should be used in accordance with the radial insert application table.
The 11-AR742 insert features 4 layers of aramid (4Ply) radial cord.
